Still a work in progress...every now and then I have to stop and do actual leadlight work to pay for all these mods to the birds accomodations :P

BUT all birds happy in the new spaces and eggs coming from all directions.

Next plan is to do the new flights, but we need to knock down the old aviary to do that first.

Looks great I love those nest boxes a friend of mine is going to try and make me some that are similar. Also love the cabinets to hold the cages might have to steal that Idea! :P

Maybe if you stopped buying hearses....... LOL

Everyone has a "vice" Dave :hap:

PS believe it or not the hearse are cheaper than an average car to buy. They go up in value and not down in value the second its driven down the road ( like a new cars goes down in value )

i heard that ken has a way fo lowering their prices - LOL.

how is that all going?

Ken is busy lowering the hearses value :hap:

We have some issues with keeping it running....electrical problem...battery is fine, alternator is fine, some extra electrical connections that are dodgy need sorting out and maybe the regulator is no good. Carbie is running wrong ( mixture is too rich ) and needs tuneup. Before tuneup we need to drain the oil and replace as some water may have got intop the sump due to the steam cleaners. They knocked the dipstick tube out while cleaning it. Also need to drain the fuel tank, fill it with metho and rinse and drain before refilling with fuel.

Ken had to move the car to remove the bumper...car ran out of fuel. Z( I need the bumper to take for quotes on repair and rechroming ) ....Got fuel, hearse wouldnt start. Once started a few times, battery was dead as its not charging due to regulator or something else ?

Need an auto electrician. :hap:

We have just solved the issue of the new flights to replace the old aviary. I have been toying with the idea of buying a patio and using that for the flights and just enclosing the sides in. We just found one someone had for sale ( 4-5 years old ) with gable roof. We have bought that and we will get it home over the next week or two ready to build the new flights. Cant see it happening in a hurry but it will happen by Christmas or sooner depending on who we can get to help in the erection. The patio is 4 and a half metres by 8 metres. I really only need about 4 metres by 6...Ken may use the end for his aviary or a shed section as it butts onto his aviary.

Very weird :hap: I "stumbled across" the ceiling insulation today ....enough 2 inch thick polystyrene sheets to do two ceilings for only $60 :o

The best part of that was the 80 yr old man who sold it to me asked me to stop for a coffee....two hours later we parted the very best of friends ...amazing how easy it is sometimes to make new and good friends. And IT Was fun fitting all that stuff into the hearse :)

The polystyrene sheets will be glued to the inside of the ceiling area and covered with hessian.

The rest of the birdroom is going slowly...I tiled the splashback in the kitchen area DSCF2772.jpg

and fitted the medicine cabinet to the wall DSCF2771.jpg

I still havent finished ALL the wall cladding but nearly.

All takes time and having to work to pay for things sucks bigtime. I need early retirement but the bank and bills wont let me :hap:

Sorry Kaz retirement wont help I'm retired & still haven't got time for everything. Guess we need to want less. It would save time if you moved in with the birds, it looks good enough for that anyway. I hope things keep moving on smoothly.

It looks fantastic. You must be so eager to have it finished :D

Soon it will be great :) I have less actual leadlight work on right now so I can manage to do more things in the birdroom. Today I might make some melamine modules that can hold all the show cages and be a base for the triple units I have made for breeding and or kindie cages. I ended up with a pile of melamine offcuts from making the cage units so I can recycle them and make the new modules for the show cages.

Well that blows the retirement theory then :D My old birdroom and aviary was so crummy that this time I want to do it right...clean and streamlined.....rodent proof and leakproof :)

your birdroom is putting areas of my house to shame Kaz.

My birdroom puts ALL OF MY HOUSE to shame Dave :D :D :)

The house is chaos and the birdroom is organised.

oh wow Kaz, Ive just finished reading this post and think that you should be awarded the most patient Award, i would have gone stirr crazy waiting this long! I am extremly jealous though of your bird room and avairy, the floor plan looks amazing and the pics are even better! I have shown the floor plan to my other half and said that when they start building our place next year, that the bird room and flights are a must add, the builder will have a fit, but Im not concerned! We are building on 5 acres so I am sure that we can afford the space, half and acre of cage should be nothing :-) ssssshhhhhhhhhh told tell the other half I think that he will have a fit! I was originally thinking of something along the lines of a 5 car garage, in kit form they are cheap, its the fit out that is the killer!!!!!! Ive been told four car including flights and bird room! Now I just need to win lotto so that I can retire before I turn 30 and spend the next 40 years breeding birds!!
