Posted March 9, 200718 yr We have many new babies due to fledge soon. Some think it's time to fledge already and I keep finding half feathered babies on the breeding cabinet floor ( I pop them back ) Here's just some of the rogues in nests ( we have 10 newly fledged babies too besides these )
March 9, 200718 yr They are all pretty as always In the two first photos the baby in the front left looks like he/she is trying to show off (very pretty) (I actually can't wait to breed some of my budgies. Just a couple of months and we can move to our new house (it's taking ages ), we will build 2-3 new aviaries directly after the kitchen and bathroom I can't wait. For now I'm studying books about handfeeding, etc., so I'm ready just in case )
March 9, 200718 yr Author I LOVE the yellow face grey in the top pictures and the cinnamon grey baby to the right in the last 2 piks is a sibling to Kamikaze (adopted babies in their nests ) ......... Edited March 9, 200718 yr by Bubbles

March 10, 200718 yr Author Ohhh look at all those birdies!! How do you find homes for them all? I love the little cinn. in the bottom photo. I find it hard to part with some of them....so I keep them. I have the space :ausb: Others, I have no trouble finding new homes for. I see a twin to my Precious in that first picture. Is it a hen? I think so Shawna. I will check again in a couple fo days for sexes.
March 10, 200718 yr Author So sweet hey Karen how are all your show budgies doing? You haven't updated your journal lately :ausb: Some of my show budgie babies are amongst these and others were fostered into Bubblegum's nest, some in luigis's nest and some in Goliaths nest. Other show budgies are on eggs. I will update. Edited March 10, 200718 yr by Bubbles
March 10, 200718 yr Oh good can you put when they are your show budgies so I know (I have the inexperience eye (Laughing out loud) so that would be wonderful )
March 10, 200718 yr Bubbles, how do you choose new owners for your budgies? I mean people you don't know. Did you actually told someone no, because you didn't think they would take care of them well? I'm just wondering. I think I will hate giving my babies to someone I don't know (if I breed later)
March 10, 200718 yr Author Bubbles, how do you choose new owners for your budgies? I mean people you don't know. Did you actually told someone no, because you didn't think they would take care of them well? I'm just wondering. I think I will hate giving my babies to someone I don't know (if I breed later) I am a good judge of character with people who want my budgies. The world is full of people we don't know....YET Just because we don't know them doesn't mean they wont be good future budgie owners. We talk for awhile and we ask questions and we educate them BEFORE they take a budgie. We give our contact phone number for ANY problems or questions in the future. I have said NO to those that I felt wouldn't look after one of my budgies.
March 10, 200718 yr Thank a lot , I hope I will be able to make the right decision when it comes to this
March 10, 200718 yr Keeping in contact with as many as you can is a good thing too Zebra along with giving them a care sheet with your phone number and e-mail address. Also when you let people know that if anytime they can't keep the budgie they may return it back to you really helps keep your babies safe in the future. One thing I remember when I adopted Merlin is Lisa said she disregarded all the e-mails or requests that wanted to know first how much with no other questions. I never asked how much I wanted to know more about Merlin first and then decided later if I wanted him they we could talk price. It was important that I found a budgie that would fit our life style first
March 10, 200718 yr Yes, I think I will try to make a list for the new owners with some info about the budgie, some photos, the food he's used to, my telephone number, and so on. Hope it's going to work. Bacause I would rather keep all my babies then give them to someone who would have them in a small cage, with no flying, no toys, ...
