A Couple Questions!

Hi all! I'm a long time lurker, first time poster!

I have a gorgeous little budgie named Femur... well, technically he's my housemate's but I love reading up on what his actions mean!

One thing Femur does that's kind of bizarre, when he's sitting on my shoulder, he will perch very close to my neck, and rest his beak on my lower lip. He tends to do this more when I'm humming or singing. I'm not quite sure if this is a thing they normally do! He also will walk up to a solid object, fluff up the feathers on his head, rest his beak on it and just sit there for ages.

Femur is generally very sociable, but at some points, when he's with one person, he'll bite (very hard!) at anyone else nearby. It seems almost aggressive. Is there a way to get him to stop doing that?

I apologise if these have been asked before, I tried to read back to see :P

Thanks a bunch!!

Welcome to our forums :P Let me add some answers and I know others will also add too.

Him snuggling up to you when you are humming is very normal. You are a budgie in his mind and it is comforting and being close to the face is very natural for a budgie. Don't be surprise if he tries to feed you or even regurgitate seed for you this is common. Merlin and Pretty do this all the time to each other. Merlin sings to Pretty and he gets all starry eyed :P.

Sound like is gets possive of his human and that is normal especially during hormonal stages. Ignoring the bites is the best way, reacting is what he expects so ignoring his attempts.
