Here are just some of my babies I took photos of today. They are looking quite good in spite of the fact we had temperatures at 42 degrees celcius today.

They will have to regrow some feathers that the mother plucked first :P They have lost some flights as well as other feathers, but growing back fast.

Your sending me the yellowface dominant pied yes yes :P

oh my goodness you were not kidding cuteness OVERLOAD :P

:P They are just so beautiful and sorry about the heat, like Rainbow, I keep the temperature at constant 70 degrees F, 19 C and never adjust the furnace, my elderly Mother keeps warm and the birdies are okay. :greenb: In fact, I have stopprd covering them at night when it's not below or at freezing. There are no drafts in this house at all but I may start covering them again when the days get longer to avoid an early morning wakeup call. :P

I have just spent a few hours setting up a sprinkler system in the aviaries with micro jet water sprayers and sprinklers. The birds will never be hot again :P

We have also put power through into the bird room and flourescent lights on timers ready for winter in the bird room. Have night lights, vacuum, and radio. :P

Oh you are so lucky Karen. I especially love hte bub in the last picture...

I am in love with your large pied hen....will trade some budgies if she is right for my pied boy

I dont think i've ever seen your breeding setup Karen. I dont know why but I assumed you colony bred (dont ask me why!) So I take it you pull pairs to breed?

I started out colony breeding when my aviary set up was different ( one large aviary ). Now I have a complex of 5 aviaries including a specific birdroom/breeding room with about 24 breeder cabinets in it. I don't colony breed anymore and I am trying to breed some show budgies too.

maybe thats why i thought you colony bred, from when you had only the one aviary.

hows the show birds coming along?

That's TRIBBLE and seems to be a hen. She also got plucked by the mother, to a degree. Lost some flights from her wings. I will do new photos in a couple of days.

:D
