Posted February 22, 200718 yr My budgie throws seed alot. We have had him for about a month and it is getting worse. We got a seed catcher to go around the cage but he still manages to throw it out onto the floor. Any advice? I dont really want to take his food away and only give it to him twice daily because I am likely to forget to give it to him and he would starve.
February 22, 200718 yr (Laughing out loud) I wish I had the answer other then budgies are messy and I vaacum daily between the molting feathers and the seed
February 23, 200718 yr :budgiedance: Not uncommon, make sure he has lots of toys and things to keep him otherwise occupied. Please don't take his food away, he knows when to eat, just don't fill it as full but do replenish it on a daily basis. :ausb:
February 23, 200718 yr If he is a young bird, that behavior is completely normal! Unfortunately, you just have to wait for him to outgrow it. It usually doesn't last more than a few months. :budgiedance:
February 23, 200718 yr Damn. I was hoping there was a solution. We have a large living/dining/kitchen area and the floor is tiled so the seed rolls all over the floor. Im sure he has fun throwing it out though.
February 23, 200718 yr You could invest in one of those stick vacs the cheapest they are here in the US are 20US and they work awesome for just daily cleaning
