its going to be my first time to breed and i need help on this i know its a more complicated and needs more attention. What are the do's and donts in breeding. and how long are the dates? what are the signs that she's had layed her 1st eggs..etc...

what food should I give her? pls.. help

the way i can tell if my budgies have laid a egg or is i have a look at the budgies *** and usually u can see skin around it instead of feathers... i dunno if they fall off or they pull them off.. well thats the go with my budgies anyway.. and later on when all eggs are laid the feathers on the stomache will be alittle messed up coz she laying on them all the time.

I was lucky enough too see her first egg being laid, I tought She was dying it satarted to kick and maid funny noises when I saw her first egg drop, I have the cage in my hairsalon and was doing a haircut when this happened. There were 6 eggs in total starting to hach after 21 days, it's suposse to be 18 days, but only 3 hach they are 23 to 19 days old and seem to be doing fine. By the way, would somebody be able to give me any advice on hairspray, I'm afraid it might be toxic for them although I'm using it carefully I wonder if it's better just to move the cage from there. :D

Hairspray or any aerosol can kill your budgie. This includes room fresheners. So can scented candles, bug sprays, and heated teflon.

yah i would definitely move it!

can anybody give me any advice on how to check to see whether the babys are feeding okay or not. i have read you need to check something but i wouldnt know where to start to be honest..

any help???? :bluebudgie:

You can just look at the crop to see if the baby is full or not. If you haven't done so already, I would suggest some reading up on baby budgies. Here is the address of a site I found with some pictures of babies at different stages of development:

I'm sure you can find quite a few as well. If you have any questions about anything you read, you can ask me about it.
