maybe he has mites?

how can i tell if he has this?

 

i cant see any thing on him, hes only young and scratches his head like a dog alot

does he do this when he is preening? This is normal. I find my birds preen all the time and they do the head scratch associated with it. Just like a cat they start at one end and finish at the other :D.

 

If you feel he may have mites don't treat yourself have him seen by an avian vet. It is not good to treat unless you know for sure, it can create more harm then good :D.
