Hi,

I am new to the forum and need some help.

I have a recessive budgie that am not sure of the gender. He/she is about 1 year 6 Months old and is really small. Here are some pictures. sorry for the quality, my camera sucks. Any help is appreciated.

The budgie does not have red eyes. I do not know why the pictures came out that way. It must be the cheap hp camera

As he's over a year i'd say male. There's a fair bit of white there but if he were a she the cere would've got tan by now.

I agree male, Pretty as a fair amount of white which confused us too. He is very pretty

I agree to...its a male...the cere is very smooth too!

Very pretty boy I think, absolutely gorgeous bird.

I agree with the others and state male for your little one.

Just a comment on the eyes - rec. pieds do have plum coloured eyes rather and a straight black and this is what your camera picked up in the pictures.

Hi,

I just thought that I should give you guys an UPdATE.

This budgie has confirmed that he is infact a MALE!! :)

How?

I paired him up with my Lutino Female and two weeks ago I caught them mating. They have since then laid two eggs. The third egg was due to be laid yesterday but no egg. I did not check the nestbox today so I do not know if she laid a third egg. but I do not think she will.

I hope that these eggs hatch and I would like to see what mutations they are going to produce. I have included pictures below. If anyone know what mutations they will produce, please let me know.
