My aviary budgies have started to breed and I was wondering if there are any mineral, vegetable or vitamin supplements that can be given to the birds while they are breeding to increase the probability of healthy chicks...

The answer to your question is "yes".

 

The main things to give the young is protein, calcium, vitamins and minerals. You will find posts here that have my recepie for soft food. This will increase the size of the chicks.
