My son is interested in breeding a black budgie.Does anyone know any infomation on this or know any links

that we can look at.He wants the body to be black not the black face budgie.

Any help would be appreciated.

I had a chance to get a slate budgie for free once and I didnt know enough then to know what it was. It appeared the darkest navy blue colour......not a mauve and not a violet but different.

 

Looked like this one but slightly darker

 

The reason I didnt get it was because it was male and they didnt know its age. Stupid, stupid me :hap:

I am trying hard to educate myself. Wouldn't let that opportunity go again now that I know what I know.

I know who would have known you know but you do have a gorgeous dark violet that I love so that is a start.

it would be cool to see an Anthracite spangle budgie, it would look so old fashiond like the cockatiels mutation

Has anybody seen a picture of the blackface with cinnamon? It has a cinnamon (brown) face, it's very pretty.

This is a mutation (blackface) I do not find particularly attractive… but as it is so rare I understand all the fuss around it.

That one seems to have brownish markings.
