January 15, 200718 yr If you want exact ratios I am not the person but I can help you determine what you may get in the clutch. Grey is dominant to normal so if you breed with a blue which is a white based budgie you will get grey babies. Of course if the grey cock is split to blue you will also get blue babies. So there is a double factor grey which is GG and there is a single factor grey which is a Gg. Know that grey is an added color not a replacement color so if you did but you don't had a green it would be grey green bird. normal budgie and a single factor grey budgie ggXGg 50% Grey Factor 50% Normal normal budgie and a double-factor grey budgie ggXGG 100% grey factor The cinnamen gene is sex-linked your females would be cinnamon and the males would be split to cinnamon. The opaline gene is also sex linked you will not get any opaline but your hen will give her male off spring will be split to opaline. All females will be normals. As for the dark factors what color is the blue? Cobalt is 1 dark factor and Mauve is 2 dark factors If the hen has 2 dark factors and the cock none then all the babies would be a single dark factor. If the hen has 1 dark factor and the cock none then you would get 50% 1 dark factor and 50% no dark factor. As with the crested I don't know much about but this is what I told from this site Crest × normal matings will produce a few Crests but mostly Crest-breds and normals. However, this is the sort of pairing one has to make now and then to improve the size and quality of the Crests and Crest-breds. The normal parent used, however, needs to be of outstanding size and type http://www.bestofbreeds.net/al-nasser/article4.htm Of course you can then get surprise genes even if you don't think cock is split he could be you never know sometimes genes don't show up for years. As for size, I can't tell you that. I would assume some would take after the female, some after the male and then some inbetween Again I am not a ratio person as some are but this is what you could expect and if I missed anything I am sure someone will come in and correct or if I got something wrong. Good Luck :book:
