my budgies laid 7 eggs at which only 2 hatched the rest were unfertial,,,,however my question is one is so much smaller than the other,, i mean i know there is going to be a size difference but compared too the 2 week old baby the 11 day old baby is barly bigger than its brother/sister the mother is feeding them very well no doubt they are great parents,,could it be one is unhealthy,,i feed them plenty of greens and i give them vitamins of all sorts!!! im so worried about it

Personally, I would give the little one a booster feed a few times a day until he catches up in size. Try offering a syringe or if doesn't work, a crop needle if you know how to use it. Otherwise, would be a good idea to take all babies to an avian vet asap. Perhaps bring all the babies and the nest box cage if possible, in case there is an infectious condition.

There is going to a a small difference in size to the babies until they are mostly feathered. Get your kitchen scales and weigh each of them daily to be sure both are gaining weight.

Please don't feed greens to parents with young chicks. It takes away the nuetrician that the chicks need to grow. The parent’s should be feed on high protien, vitamins and calcium as well as essential minerals. If the feed is inadequate the chick can have full crops and die from under nourishment.

Greens are full of good vitamins and minerals but it’s not what a growing chick needs. I feed the parents high quality seed with breeding aide added. A mixture of hulled oats soaked over night in avicleans and then rinsed in the morning, High protein mix and grated carrots. The Grated carrots and hulled oaks act as a carrying agent for the high protein.
