Hi guys, haven't posted since before xmas as I have been busy busy busy!

Anyway Snowflake's eggs hatched, originally there was three babies but the middle one died.

Think other birds killed it as Snowflake is very quiet, thus next year only breeding in breeding cages.

Anyway here are some pics.First baby has black spots coming through.

and second baby seems to have no spots coming through.

Snowflake had two boyfriends, although I have only seen Aussie feeding the babies.

Aussie has a small yellow patch on the back of his head and has had pied babies before.

Here is Aussie

and here is Snowball 2nd daddy

Both are looking good. The first looks to me like an opaline. Since I can't see black dots on the body, just the wings. Are there black dots on the body as well or not?

No black dots on the body that I can see.I checked on the babies this morning and the second one now has dots in the same place aswell, they are just starting. No white babies this time. Thanks Nerwen

Well we can't reall say what snowball can be hiding, but the fact both seem to be looking as opaline I would think Aussie is the dad of both.

So true Nerwen about Snowball but I also know that Snowball is an old budgie and could be shooting blanks.I got him with my aviary and the lady said it was the first budgie she bought, which could be up to 10 years ago.I also got two other males with the aviary which have passsed

away this year aswell from old age.

awe they are looking good, a good decision on closed breeding.

Thought I would update with new pictures.Have named the oldest budgie "smiley" as it always looks happy.

It is really dark on his wings and on his body, woth dark feathers coming on its belly aswell.

close up of cute smiley face.

Second baby has no name but I have noticed no spots on the middle of the back of its head. Also has light colouring on end of right wing and some on the left wing,so hoping this means it might be a pied.

Couldn't resist this photo of head/nose.

The only thing I don't like about baby budgies ............ they grow up to fast!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That last picture is incredible.. good shot. Both babies are looking good.

Thanks feathers. This baby is always having little sleeps while the other one always chirps. They are so cute but I think i'm biased

So cute and pink and absolutely adorable! Plus your picture of potential daddy Snowball makes me more and more convinced my Holly is a boy..the ceres are very similar in colour, but Holly's never comes out in photos how it looks in real life.

I'm sure your little pink baby will grow up to be an even more beautiful birdie :)

I agree incredible photography so close and clear. I love the baby where you can see the ears :D

Both a very fluffy today.

we had the babies out this afternoon and they are definately fathered by Aussie. He has dark feet and on the babies feet you can see darkening like his. Here he is next to snowflake.

The eldest is definately a blue bird but I'm not sure of the second,it is showing a yellow/green on the tail feathers coming through.

:D

Oh wow, I have fallen madly in love with Smiley! Those pictures of his head being rubbed are PRICELESS!

 What beautiful babies, especially Smiley (love the name). :fear

Snowflake and Aussie look like they are posing for that photo. It is a great shot. The babies are looking great.

yes feathers snowflake has a tendency to puff her chest out when I have the camera.Babies are doing well and lots of blue feathers in the biggest baby.Second baby has blue and white on his wings but his tail feathers coming through look almost yellowy/green.will post more pics soon.
