I am looking at a similar sized cage right now and would not see that as suitable for 2 budgies, and thats not counting possible future babies (5 or 6 ) having room in it once they leave the nest. The best kind of cage for a budgie is one that is wider rather than taller. Taller seems to suit canaries and finches as they flit up and down the height of the cage. Budgies need a wider cage so they can fly across the width of it. A cage that is more suited to breeding a family would be one that is at least 2 ft wide by approx 16 inches high by approx 16 inches deep. Even then the nesting box must be added to the exterior to give them room inside. When babies come out of the nest or fledge, they need to learn to fly. In cramped conditions for one budgie, you are adding a second budgie to that space for breeding and then 5 or 6 to that again once babies arrive. Can cause stress and endanger baby budgies lives if parents havent space and attack their own babies. You will find some great advice here to help you in your future endeavors, but firstly I think you need a bigger cage. Love to see photos if you have any and welcome. Cheers karen
