Posted January 2, 200718 yr I know I have tried this way of sprouting seeds but they don't sprout that well anyone have a different way? This is how I tried it... 1). Fill abowl full fo water 2). Put two teaspoons of seed inside a strainer and submerse it under water 3). Let it sit for 24 hours, rinse of well 4). Remove the seeds and put them into a dry bowl lightly coverd at room temperature 5). Let them sit for 48 hours washing occasionally This sprouts them but they don't sprout that well...anyone have a different way?
January 2, 200718 yr Here is the info and link right on our boards from another member Couldn't find the post where someone asked for how to sprout seed, so I'll put it here. You can use bird seed, alfafa, suflower, pea, the list is endless. Pop some seeds in a jar (don't fill too full, they will swell). Cover jar with a stocking, and put an elastic band around the mouth of jar to hold the stocking on. Fill jar with water. Leave for an hour. Empty out water. Put jar in a dark spot (on an angle so any more water can drain out.) Rinse with water twice a day. Should sprout within a couple of days. You must rinse with water at least twice a day, otherwise they will go 'sour' and smelly http://forums.budgiebreeders.asn.au/index....sprouting+seeds
