Yea!!! I am making progress in getting my favorite pair more tame.

A month ago they were both pretty wild. Sherby was more tame than her mate Shadow, but she would still run around the cage to avoid stepping up and give me a hard time even outside the cage. I have been working on her, and now I can count on her to step up almost every time!

 

I only started working on Shadow a few days ago and he is already responding. I used to let him out for fly time just by opening the door, but Lovey let me know that it is better to not let them out, but to take them out. This worked well for Sherby so I tried it with Shadow. I guess he got tired of seeing Sherby get time out of the cage while he was stuck inside!! He actually at a little millet from my hand and then he actually stepped onto my hand long enough to be taken through the cage door! I am so happy. There is hope for these two after all. They love coming out to play with my baby tiel, Bilbo on his cage.

 

Bilbo is becoming more and more tame too. And today I was able to get them all to eat a little chopped up Italian pasta salad.

 

Shadow and Sherby are the first two birds in my sig.

I knew you could do it!! We mostly 'let' our birds out rather than 'take' them out. I'm gonna have to work on this too. Way to go!!
