Posted January 1, 200718 yr okay, I've noticed this on many budgies and wondered how it works for the shows. I'm assuming that crossed wings are a fault in a show budgie? Our male does not have crossed wings, but our females do. I'm not planning on showing, but as we help out in our local show, it got me wondering.
January 1, 200718 yr Yes, you are right crossed wings are a fault in a show budgie as per this info A bird's wings need to sit neatly on the base of the tail. Crossed wings or dropped wings are serious faults. Both are hereditary, therefore, specimens possessing these faults should be eliminated from breeding stock.
January 7, 200718 yr One of my cockatiels has slightly* crossed wings but I wasn't planning on showing her anyways...maybe her offspring down the road. I am breeding her to an EXCELLENT male though!
