Hi there and welcome I am newly into show budgies myself and can help you in some areas. I have been breeding pet budgies for awhile now and seem to have learnt a great deal. I have over 230 budgies right now, some pet some show. Here is some info for you to find a budgie club near you TASMANIA Budgerigar Council of Tasmania Inc PRESIDENT Jim Fletcher VICE PRESIDENT Roy Blair SECRETARY Allen Geddes ageddes@hotkey.net.au TREASURER Derek Poole SHOW MANAGER SHOW SECRETARY Allan Geddes RING REGISTRAR Judy Fletcher Start there and I will get back to you with sizes of....Breeder boxes (do you mean breeding cabinets or the nesting boxes ? ) The budgie council of Tassie will help you with contacts for birds. As this seems to be the time of year for breeders "culls" ( weeding out the youngsters they dont need and breeders too ) you may well end up with some reasonable birds to start off with. Will "talk" some more. Cheers Karen

December 31, 200618 yr hi,thanks will contact the secretary. yes breeding cabinets are what i was thinking to put up one wasll of the shed proberly the wall ill have the avairy on so i could easily let birds in and out if neccessary I have 2-3 types of breeder cabinets. One size in particular seems more suited to the budgies for their health, space and room for a few babies. It is 600 mm wide by 450 mm deep by 500 mm high. It has two good perches in it and room for an inside nesting box or preferably an outside mounted one. I am about to make some more from melamine ( for ease of cleaning ) ...so I will buy the 450 mm wide melamine and divide it up into 3 breeder cabinets with the extra being distance from the floor.
