Introducing Holly

okay, so I've finally gotten a few pictures of my new bird Holly. Some of you may or may not remember me being around here when I had my little yellowface type II boy, Smudge, who died very suddenly after only being with me for 5 months.

Well...I went away on holiday and a few other things, and then got round to "just looking" in the local pet shop (not the one I bought Smudge from, that burnt down a week after I got Smudge - no animals were hurt I hasten to add). Well, when I was "just looking" this little 8 week old bundle of white feathers was singing it's little budgie heart out. I mention this to my parents, but didn't do anything...the next week when I went back, that little white fluffy was still there, still singing away...and about 15 minutes later was coming home with me!

That was 4 weeks ago...Holly (The name Snowy was a bit too obvious, so with Xmas round the corner I decided to choose a festive name and Holly was the one that stuck!) now is hand tamed, loves to play finger wrestling and is happy and chirpy all day long. He had his first trip out of the cage last night...and stuck to me like glue bless him...he had a few flights around the room..he's got the art of flying down, its just landing he's got to perfect!

Anyhow here He is...not the best photos, but you can see he is extremely white, and you can see his red eyes. I say he...I'm still not 100% sure..his cere does have a little bit of white around the nostrils, but the rest of it is so pinky/purple and smooth, plus he does poofy headed flirting with stuff like his cuttlefish and his toys..not sure anyone will really be able to tell me from these pictures.

Very cute! Very...dark and mysterious too  from my limited knowledge I'd agree on albino.

He is really lovely. What a cutie  ......I also like the seed dish he is eating from. What a nice design dish to attach from the outside. ;)

He is indeed albino...red eyes, white feathers, very cute little pink feet! Those top two pics make it look like he's shy but he certainly isn't.

Bubbles, all the cages I've ever had have had the seed pots that attach from outside..do they not make them like that in Australia?

My dad took the seed pictures because Holly was trying to climb INTO the pot, rather than eat...unfortunately he didn't manage to get any shots of him shoving himself in as far as he could, and he's not worked out that he's too big to fit in there so he doesn't do it anymore!

Most of the ones I have seen hang from the inside. I like yours

Hi Kestral, Holly is a very lovely budgie... I am pleased that you weren't too put off budgies after Smudge died.

:ausb: Holly is gorgeous! I have inside/outside feeders as well depending on the cage. Actually I prefer the inside ones as you can move them around, with outside feeders you have no option. :greenb:

Congratulations on your new love. Holly is gorgeous. I love albinos
