October 7, 200321 yr ive sorted the nestbox size out 9x7x6 approx but could still use any advice on making concaves i hear you can buy a concave cutter ..stockists anyone ? i cant find any
October 8, 200321 yr okay, This is how I build my nest boxes: (the little thing that the birds lay eggs in) Dimensions: Front 200mm high x 160mm wide x 220 deep Material: Front and back panels 9mm thick craft wood. Sides 4mm thick (masonite) or craft wood. Bottom and top 9mm thick Top used as lid hinged by nailing through the sides, overlapping depth of nest box as finger grip to open for inspection and cleaning. Drill 10mm holes for ventilation. Entrance hole 50mm in diameter ? up from bottom. Preferably painted on completion for easy cleaning. Small perch 10mm dowel just below entrance hole. CONCAVES Fit false bottom into the nest box with 100 mm circular saw cut out. (the thing circle saw thing that you put onto the end out the drill. October 28, 200321 yr hi my nest boxes are 12 inches deep with the bottom filled with 3 inches of wood shavings so a concave is not needed hath
