Switching To Water Bottles

Has any switched there birds from water bowls to water bottles?? I want to switch my birds to water bottles so that cleaning and stuff will be easier. Is it easy to get them to switch quickly?? Does anyone have any tips for making it easier??

I havn't and have thought about it before. I can't recall where I read it but somewhere on line i read that they learn fast on how to get to the water.

i have my budgies now on rabbit water bottles and it was easy to transfer, they are very curious little birds and as longs as you make the initial dripps from the bottle so they can see and feel whats in side the bottle they will start drinking from it on their own...well at least mine did, my other birds tiels, doves quail and finchs will not go near it though.

Mine were scared of theirs. So I caught about 6 budgies and took them to the bottle and touched their beaks to the nozzle & they felt the water. They continued to go back & the other birds followed them. They all drink from the bottle now (those in the main aviary that is).

I was thinking of changing mine to bottles a while ago and I bought some that said they were for water but as soon as you tip them up for the water to come out, all the water was coming out so I chucked them out and never worried about it again. I am going to get some of the guinea pig bottles tho that sounds like a great idea!!

I have water bottles in the aviary. They work wonders!
