Posted December 2, 200618 yr I have no idea where to post this question so its posted here. are fake christmas tree's toxic to budgie's and is there anyway to tell?? thanks in advance
December 2, 200618 yr I would say they are probably okay. But I prefer mine not by them because the cord that has the lights on it can be chewed which is not safe, along with any ornanments that may not be budgie safe. So as a precauction I keep my away from the tree. Edited December 2, 200618 yr by lovey
December 3, 200618 yr I have no idea, but I think it would be a good idea to keep them away from the tree all the same. Thankfully I don't have to worry about that with Scuttle yet. He has only just started venturing away from his comfort zone that is my bedroom. It will be ages before I'm able to get him to venture into the lounge room. Oh plus I have to keep teaching the cat that he isn't free game just because he's not in my room (Laughing out loud).
December 3, 200618 yr Blink and Oz are scared of my xmas tree! :(Laughing out loud): But i remember that my first budgie Tweety LOVED hiding in the branches!! I think as long as you're supervising them and making sure they're not getting into trouble it would be fine.
December 3, 200618 yr Chucky loves adventuring in the branches and trying to break the beads!!! I watch her the whole time just to make sure she doesn't chew any wires. Oh and don't let them on the tree if you have had the lights on as these can get quite hot.
