Posted November 30, 200618 yr I have had what i believed to be an albino female for about a year. I recently put her outside in a large avairy and she has showed signs of pairing with two males and has been messing around in the nesting box so i am hoping for maybe some eggs in the not to distant future. How ever my red eyed albino hen is changing colour. After about a fotnight outside she is allot more muscular and her faethers have changed colour. I can now see a tinge of sky blue in her body feathers. Does this mean she is not an albino? And is it common for colours to show more clearly in the spring?
November 30, 200618 yr it is normal for an albino to have a hue of blue on them since they are a blue based bird. you may be seeing it more because she is flying around more and getting fit and the ultraviolet rays of the outside could be bring in her enhancing her colors. That is my logical explanation (Laughing out loud). Someone else may have another but it is true that the blue hue of an albino is very normal.
November 30, 200618 yr Lovey is right. My First two chicks I hatched, Tiny and Chirpy were brothers. Chirpy came inside and tiny went to the flight. Tiny grew quickly in to a sleek and mature bird. Chirp stayed a fluffy cuddly bird. Different enviroment will do this.
