I still have so much to learn but please help me to figure out if i am heading in the rigth direction.... I believe this handsome fellow is a male dominant pied light green....is this close to right?? Here are some more of my new birds... I believe it is a clear wing lutino male[you can't see in the pics but his flight feathers are white. And a yellow factor2 medium blue spangled female. Please let me know if im going okay? I'm really just strting out at this.
November 29, 200618 yr 1. He is an opaline too so Light Green Opaline Clearflight Dominant Pied 2. Lutino only 3. YF2 Cobalt Spangle and what a beauty the blues are sky blue, cobalt and mauve for reference when you are referring to color. There is also violets and dilutes of all the colors above. December 2, 200618 yr all three birds appear to be males and the spnagle is also an opaline beacuse the yellow factor in it runs through into his wings, but in a show catagory he would be in spangle.

December 2, 200618 yr yes the yellow from the yf gene thats what i said before, and the SPANGLE markings are grey not blue because the blue and yellow factors mix to creat a grey factor which looks grey but is actually a dilute blue. but the OPALINE markings are yellow because of the T2Y factor runs through out the back feathers Sco-tie,
December 2, 200618 yr Bea I know what you mean the body color needs to run through the wings to be an opaline not the yellow from the yellow face gene and I believe from my studying you are correct on that.
December 2, 200618 yr I agree with Bea as well, the bird doesn't have opaline gene. You need blue running through the back/wing to be opaline, not yellow, that is only the YF gene.
