More sad news. The next creamino baby died also this evening, despite all attempts to save it ;) The older babies so far are good.

;) Sad to hear that Bubbles, fingers crossed for the rest. ;)

Thats so sad. Poor babies, straight to budgie heaven. I hope the rest do okay.

A very bad day. The eldest baby of Honey and Luigi lost its fight for life...the YF cobalt opaline spangle. Not even antibiotics and a special formula could help this little one. I tried very hard to keep him going but he passed on earlier today.

Photo taken a week ago YY032x.jpg:wub:

There are 3 babies left from Honey and Luigi's six babies. The two I am still handfeeding and the youngest fostered in Romeo's nestbox.

Duckie (male) za078.jpg

and Kwackers (female) za082.jpg

Please excuse the messy babies. They have dinner faces on

hugs Karen can you tell us exactly what you did for the eldest? You had him on antibiotics for? Just curious, I know you do everything to keep these little ones going, but so I understand :P.

Also glad everything else is going well with the other ones.

again hugs on those losses I know how heartbreaking it is for you ^_^

The eldest baby contracted an infection, making his droppings a rusty reddish brown colour. As fast as food went in, it past through. So he was losing ground very fast. The antibiotic was to try and fix that but it was too late and it had no time to work properly. The other two have no infections.

well that is GOOD to hear about the other 2, so sad they are so delicate

((hugs))

Delicate Yes.....at the time when parents reject they are very low in immunity and resistance.

Today I am pushing to meet a deadline with work and have slashed open the back of my hand.....so have to pull it together for now and get stitches later. Deadline comes first. ^_^

What do you think of the yellow pieds ?

take care of your hand

and what yellow pieds I must NOT look as they are my favorite YF2 recessive (coughs) PIEDS ^_^

What yellow pieds ? I see no yellow pieds :)za073.jpg

just this sea of yellowza072.jpg

PS was too busy for the doctors. Hand will have to heal itself :hap:

*wags fingers* Karen your health is important get your hand seen to ASAP.

I like the dark bub in that last group will be interesting to see what he will be like in a few weeks.

  • Author

Yes....dark baby is interesting. I have just checked and it seems to have skyblue colour to tummy area with YF and rec pied wing markings ?? Most secondary colouring on these babies is olivegreen or greygreen with the yellow...blue based colour to one baby. Looks like Daddy budgie's colouring has ruled here.

Re cut hand.....have resorted to tape and looking for the superglue .......easier than trying for doctors appointment or sitting at a hospital waiting roon for more than half a day.

You gotta know I would give you one in a blink if only you lived closer :)

Well I am not sure if that makes me fell better or want to cry :) or just laugh myself silly and wished I lived in perth :)

Well Perth is the best place to live, having bubbles and her budgies here just make it even better :)

Interesting that you have a blue boy.. that would mean that the daddy is split for blue then. :( and it seems that both parents are split to yellowface too. :D or is that just daddy?

Umm hmm can't remember is Yellowface blue dominant or recessive over white face blue? anyone?

Cheeta I KNOW. AHHHH she is going to sell her yellow pieds....

Booking ticket FAST!!! One DAY I swear . I would love to see her set up and met Karen.
