:P she has caught on but since she can't access the forum again we can restart our plan :D

Think again....I am back. Sneaky people on this forum when you aren't around :(

*****UPDATE ....the parents stopped feeding the five babies in their nest ( youngest one is fostered with another mother ) .....so Mum has been put back in the flights, babies have been put on the breeding cage floor and nestbox hole blocked. So here's hoping Dad will continue to feed the babies. I tried handfeeding earlier but babies werent too impressed with that and wouldnt feed enough to make a difference. Cross your fingers ;)

[crosses fingers and shelves plans for budgie smugling for a week or two] Hope Dad does his job too.

I have put the two youngest babies in another mother's nest for feeding and will check them before dark and remove if she isnt feeding them. The eldest three that were in with their father aren't being fed by him at all. He also has been put back in the flight aviary. Time to bite the bullet....I am trying crop needle feeding for the first time as they refuse the food from syringe. Crop needle :P ....scary for first time users. Having taken advice and bought the crop needle I find it is too small for the right consistency of food and Ken has raced out to get another. I have worked out how to use the crop needle though and had success with it even though they are getting a very runny mix due to incorrect needle size.

So if the foster mother isnt interested in the two I have given her I may well be doing feeds for 5 babies tonight and onwards. As the foster mother had 6 of her own, I moved two of hers in with a mother that had only one of her own plus one of Honey and Luigi's.....making 4 in that nest. So, it was a mad shuffle to even up the numbers and get the babies fed. ;)

I am feeding five babies now. za061x.jpgza060x.jpg

plus keeping busy with tons of leadlight work. It's the silly season for leadlights...everyone wants them yesterday.... ;) This one of a major mitchell cockatoo is a metre wide. za055x.jpg

Wow, you did that leadlight?? I am so totally in love with it. There is a house around the corner from me with the most fantastic window like that. It al.ways catches my eye and if I ever built another house I would love to put a couple in.

Hope all goes well with your bubs. Sounds like you are going to be a very busy girl

Why are you having to feed the babies? They're very cute!! And that lead light is awesome!! :D

Kaz, how are the babies doing? I'm guessing luigi didn't take to feeding the kids?

Do you need a hand (help) feeding bubs? or are you right?

Here is what I posted earlier Bea.......after this the Dad didnt feed them either. So both parents stopped feeding in the end. They wouldn't take the syringe feeds....a bit too weak for demanding food and successfully taking it. Since their crop needle feeds earlier they are all a lot brighter.

I very much appreciate the offer Cheeta and will call on you if I need to. The crop feeding is easier actually than trying to get food into them with a syringe as it turns out. All bubs much brighter since their feeds. :)

oh that's great to hear that they are doing much better now. Fingers all crossed for you and the little bubs.

Good luck Kaz they are in great hands. Love your work, absolutely incredible, you are very talented.

Thanks Elly. Babies are going well so far. They are right next to me and all piled on top of each other. We have a 4 wk old youngster in with them too for body warmth. There's more babies under these ones. The cobalt normal is from another nest za069.jpg

You are fantastic. Nice to know that I have such a great breeder near me if I decide to go down that track at some time. Between you and Cheeta I'm all right if I need help.
