November 23, 200618 yr what a FLUFFY head I can't get over it (Laughing out loud) she is gorgeous I would say dominant pied I don't see anything else
November 23, 200618 yr Here's some more pictures of OPRAH....obviously not a spangle...dom pied YES. She is fabulous!!!! How old is she? I may be blasted here, but doesn't it seem like the most beautiful budgies end up being hens????

I may be blasted here, but doesn't it seem like the most beautiful budgies end up being hens???? Oprah is 2 yrs old. Most of my gorgeous and pretty budgies are usually males :bluebudgie:
November 23, 200618 yr SO these are the start of the new stud?? Are you going to specialise in a certain mutation ie Dom Pied? Very nice birds. Magnus and Conan are nice- Conan looks to have grey on him?? Also the green Dom Pied boy 'unnamed' as he looks like my boy!! "Captain??"(from Phoebes list) The name Oprah suits her perfectly!- is she Dom Pied, opaline spangle??
November 23, 200618 yr I see spangle and opaline in her as well as the dom pied. :bluebudgie: She is gorgeous. :ausb:
November 23, 200618 yr Author you were right Karen she is a spangle and I think opaline. I thought she was but her markings confused me a bit. :bluebudgie: SO these are the start of the new stud?? The beginnings of new things YES...hopefully I am choosing the right kind of birds for breeding what I want to. Dominant pied seems to be my preference, but I have no particular direction right now. I am open to good suggestions from those that know. Conan is an olive normal with the dark blue tail and purple cheek patches....I think they look a bit grey sometimes. I love MAGNUS :hap: Yes you are right about OPRAH. I was with an experienced breeder earlier today and got some great tips. I came away with 7 more budgies too :ausb:
November 23, 200618 yr I love Oprah.. great name for her. Looking at all these great pics all the time is NOT helping me in my quest to not buy any more.... [stays strong]... for now... All it takes is one budgie. That leads to the next budgie and then the next and then the next one after that. It keeps happening....it takes over....and next thing you know the budgies live in the house cos theres more room and you live in a shed in the back garden So when we get dragged off by faceless men in white jackets do we get to go to a bird room?
November 23, 200618 yr I don't remember seeing the back pics when I posted just dominant pied but maybe I didn't scroll down but I agree too with the spangle and opaline. MY is she something else.

MY is she something else. The pictures of her back were added for clarification, so you didn't miss a trick Lovey ************************************************************************ Have seven new guys.....Daz told me to go and get some good "normals" for my breeding program. Here's a couple of of them BRUTUS (named by Lovey) and HOGAN (named for Hulk Hogan the wrestler) Hogan is split to lacewing and funnily enough he has a lacewing bride already. Here's another pied boy you all might like (his name is DANIEL or DANNY BOY after Cheetas husband Daniel )
November 24, 200618 yr OH so many GEORGEOUS budgies!!!!!!!! I want more now also, keep beggin my hubby to hurry up and build my avary but I just get a aha and a nod why are they so addictive ...... better than being addicted to something that is bad for us I guess
November 24, 200618 yr Oh Karen, I showed Daniel 'his' budgie... and his reaction was.. hmmm I so do not see the resemblance!!! (Laughing out loud) He's a cute boy though Danny Boy is.. I can so see myself marrying him.. hehehe

November 24, 200618 yr Oh good I was hoping I wasn't slacking in my old age . They are gorgeous Karen!
November 24, 200618 yr Author Nice normals Karen I think you have some very good stock to start with. Hope so, Jenni, I am flying by the seat of my pants here ( going by instinct ) *** MAGNUS and OPRAH are bonding. Edited November 24, 200618 yr by Bubbles
November 24, 200618 yr WOW! Stunning new additions Karen and the names just crack me up  I went to a ladys house the other day as she was selling all her birds (thinking to update the genes in my aviary) and i came away with NO BUDGIES which was a first for me.. they were all so dull looking and many seemed to have fatty lumps on their breast (under feather) and it was a huge turn off.. Although i came home with many of her other birds :(Laughing out loud): :rip:

I went to a show breeder quite prepared to spend some serious money a couple of weeks ago and he showed me some really rubbishy birds. I could have got better ones at a pet shop
November 25, 200618 yr Daniel and Sherrie are my favorites.. but you got so many pretty ones. I went to a show breeder quite prepared to spend some serious money a couple of weeks ago I am kind of curious about what some of the new budgies cost? All from the same breeder? Did certain colors set you back more than others? Or if some had better features? I'd assume they were more than the normal "pet" type. If you don't want to talk price that's understandable.. you got some gorgeous ones. Edited November 25, 200618 yr by HurdyBirdy

One of the hens cost me $50 and Brutus cost me $10 .......one batch of birds from one breeder so they are in a quarantine cage together as they came form the same aviary. The others from another breeder and they also are in a separate quarantine cage together. Edited November 25, 200618 yr by Bubbles
November 25, 200618 yr  Danny Boy's coloring is just fantastic. And oh, about my propensity to suggest names, one of the girls at work is pregnant for the first time (special baby) and asked me for name suggestions for both boys and girls. Only problem is they had to start with either E or T!! (don't ask). It's been quite a challenge and eventually I had to break down and use the internet but she LIKES them.
