well the manager of the petstore can''t keep up with all the budgies so he is giving me 6 and i alredy have 4 so that will be 10 altogether i wanted to know if any one can help me with pairing for breeding season next year well actually one of the my birds now are quite sick because he has just lost his mate now he is depresed and feeding his toys i feel so sad for him so he won't be paired till about a year and a half from now, i can choose from ten but only 6 i can choose.

the hens i can choose from

1= yellow face 2 opaline spangle

2=albino

3= sky blue clearflight dominant pied, currently paired up one of my own budgies currently

4=lace wing

5=recessive pied

cocks i can choos from

1= lutino

2=dominiant pied

3=skyblue normal currently pair up with angel my skyblue clear flight dominant pied

4=D.E.C

5=grey cinnamon

Lutino cock too lacewing hen - any males will be split to lacewing.

DEC to albino.

dominant pied to recessive pied.

That's just me though, I'm not really into genetics so that's the 6 I'd breed.

With the cock who lost his mate, I got some wonderful advice from Bubbles. Find a hen that looks like the one that you lost - the male should accept her as his new mate. My spangle male accepted his new mate and now they have a baby!

pictures might help a bit getting an idea of what they look like will help some people.

I would put the recessive with the DEC (if you know for sure that is what it is) then you can get more of them.
