Just a little update on Trooper. He has grown in size so much since he learnt there was more to life than ground level. He is at least 30% bigger than before and he is doing really well. He has a "boyfriend" so that makes him a little confused, but he has learnt to headbob and flirt so practice makes perfect. He has moulted out into a gorgeous new colour and here he is now

Have just read little Trooper's story and it's amazing how well these little birds can overcome bad luck with help from their human friends and their feathered ones! It brings a smile to my face (and sometimes a tear).

 

He is very handsome Bubbles, you should be very proud! Go Trooper!!!

All the fledglings use the ladder now...it's part of their toys. Trooper seems to have no more problems getting around...he's just one of the guys. I think they all are using the ladder from time to time.

In particular, when my babies from the kindergarten cage move into the fledgling aviary...they all use the ladder to begin their journey from ground to upper perches.

He is such a pretty boy, and so confident now. It's fantastic... life is very much happier for him obviously. Great story.

Trooper has turned into a beautiful budgie, glad he is enjoying life to the fullest!
