Hello there.

I stumbled across this wonderful forum a few days ago while searching for pictures of the different mutations in budgies. I wish I had found this place sooner!

I've had pet budgies for about seven years now. A month ago I had to euthanize the first bird I ever bought, and it broke my heart. Her name was Gavin, and she left behind her budgie companion Emmy. She was my third bird to die this year, and I hope that doesn't make me sound like a horrible bird owner. My Sophia died on April 1st, very suddenly after injuring her leg, and my dear Seamus had been sickly all his life, but he lived years longer than I could have ever expected, and he died in my hands on July 2nd.

After Gavin died, I got Emmy 2 new companions, who just recently came out of quarantine, and everyone is getting along perfectly. I named the new ones Rain, and Lamb.

So yes, my current flock consists of Emmy, Rain, and Lamb the budgies, and Truman the cockatiel.

I cant wait to start reading and posting, and getting to know other forum members.

Oh, and I'm also looking forward to viewing and posting pictures.

Did I mention how happy I was that I found this place? :P

Hello and welcome!!!

I lived where you are for 26 years! Small world, isn't it? I would love to see pictures of your flock! I look forward to reading more about you and your birds. :P

:P Hey Samma from Kentucky, was happy when I found this site as well. Do post pictures of your birds for all to see and welcome! :P

Welcome to the forum! What part of KY do you live in. I have two sons at Ft Campbell and aunts uncles and cousins in eastern KY, and my brother taught English at Berea and EKU till his death last year.

I am sorry to hear about your losses. These little creatures really have the ability to break our hearts, but they bring us much joy too. I am glad to "meet" you.
