My New Young Budgies.

Featured Replies

Hi;

I'm 11 years old and I am a new budgie keeper.

My dad just bought me 2 young Budgies and I would like some help working out what sort they are.

I've only had them for 1 day and they already sit on my finger with a tiny bit of encouragement.

I've spent most of today reading stuff in your forums and have learned heaps.

One thing I haven't learnt is what mutations Tracey and Sammi have.

From your forums I know that Tracey is a girl and Sammi is a boy and that they are probably between 8 and 12 weeks old.

Thanks for any help you might be able to give me.

Here are some photos.

they are cute and friendly from what i can see, and Good job looking up all you can on being a great bird owner! you've got two very lucky birds

Welcome to the boards :blink: You have two very cute budgies.

Tracey is a yellowface spangle. I can't say for now if she is type 1 or 2, when she starts to moult (around the 3 month mark) she will either start to get some green on her chest which means she is type 2 or not which means type 1

And sammi is a yellowface clearwing.

Hi;

I've got some other budgies that I've had for a while and I don't know what mutations they have.

Firstly, I got Lee

Then came Frost. She has a pink band on her leg. (?)

Not long ago, I got four other budgies two of them are:

Missy

and Xavier

This is Xavier's back

These birds live in the aviary that dad and I built because they are older and untamed.

Missy and Xavier are bonded and so are Lee and Frost.

We've put 2 nesting boxes in the aviary in hope that they will breed.

Thanks,

Sammi :P
