Corn On Cob

Featured Replies

This is probably a really silly question, but I just wanted to check, is corn on the cob good for budgies, the reason I ask is my budgies love it more than they love there millet, and as I know millet is budgie junk food I was just wondering is it bad to give them to much corn on the cob,?

in moderation as in all things it's fine :D

Mine love it as well and get a bit each day

We sometimes give our budgies corn on the cob and they go nuts!

The absolutely peck at it until it's just "on the cob".

Our quails love it too

hmmm I think I would eat it all before they got a chance to have a bite! hehe.

I have yet to offer any to my budgies, they're pretty picky with veggies. They love lettuce of any kind though. My hamster loves ears of corn hehe.

It's fine for them, in moderation of course!

It's okay for them but I wouldn't offer it every day. Maybe a weekly treat. :hap:

Each Week I get a bag of carrots, Half a celery, packet of mung bean sprouted, packet of snow pea sprouts and a four packet cans of corn kernels.

Each day the birds get half a corrot grated, 1 stick off celery cut up in to small cubes, 1/4 cup mung beans sprouted, 1/4 packet of the snow pea sprouts cut up and a can of corn kernels. (can is 125g) They love the mix.

I've been giving it to them for the past year and it gives them vitamins and mineral.

Now out of 74 birds that I have had in the past 16 months. I have only lost two birds. 1 from a prolapse and the other from a misterious ilness. I will lose another from the dreaded Feather duster syndrome soon.

I have currently 43 birds in the flight all doing well.
