Posted October 30, 200618 yr hi everyone. I have a female parakeet that has black eyes. I had her for over a year and she is about a year and a half old. is she sick or something?
October 30, 200618 yr the whole eyes is black no light part. they look light a young bird would but she is a year and a half old.
October 30, 200618 yr Is she a recessive pied (has splotchy markings) if she is then this is totally normal. Also if she's all yellow or white with black eyes this would be normal too (for a dark eyed clear).
October 30, 200618 yr she does have yellow spots down her back. and her stomach is hald yellow and half green.
October 31, 200618 yr She sounds like a mutation know as recessive pied.. they don't get a lightened iris.
