Intoducing My Humble Flock

Featured Replies

I first got hooked on budgies when I got these little guys for house pets. Unfortunately we moved and I had no where to keep them safe from my "budgie Loving" cat "Jewels", so I temporarily loaned my boys to a bird loving friend with visiting privileges.

"Huey"

A year later I was given a roughly constructed avery after it blew over in a very nasty storm/hurricane and killed all the birds except for one which I also inherited. this is him below.

best known by the kids as "Robin Hood" (not the best photo) I think he is at least 4 or 5 years old maybe more.

My three boys were much happier in their bigger aviary (which I re-roofed and am still renovating and upgrading) but.....they looked lonely and so I got them some company.

and this little one "Bree" who is my young trouble maker

and "Olivia"

and I found two beautiful budgies at a pet shop on Saturday who are in quarantine. One emerald green and the other Mauve/purple. I'll post photos later they are paired up and ready to nest as soon as they get a clean bill of health.

I love them all dearly and have big dreams of a large avery in my empty back yard. I currently have the renovators delight and another small one I think is galvanised. Which I am currently just keeping the trouble makers in while my pair raise their young.

Love that Yellow Face, what a fine looking Budgie

Absolutly Stunning! That Yellow Face stole my heart!

Gorgeous budgies.. The first one says sky blue greywing.. but I think he's a violet clearwing.. definately one to add to my "want" list.

Wow your birds are stunning!!! :) Don't you just love how their personalities all stand out, like "Bree your little trouble maker" Just a typical little budgie!!! Thanks for sharing!!

:) Great pictures, great flock! :)

Thanks everyone! I really enjoy sharing them with people who love them just as much as me.

Your birdies are so gorgeous!!!

I like the photos! Did you take them???

:hap: kt

AWESOME FLOCK. How many clutches have you had? More pics please!

Thanks guys,

this is my first year breeding and I am desperately scambling for nesting boxes at the moment. Not enough to go around and only terrible quality here in Tassie so I'm going to make my own.

I did take the photos myself but can't get much closer. Really disappointed in my new camera which doesn't seem to take macro shots well. I want some clear photos of my new babies.

Update on babies they are all showing signs of being white like Mum Opal. Will try to take some photos of them on the weekend when I can get someone to hold them for me. Their cute little feathers look more like bum fluff at this stage
