Posted October 27, 200618 yr Hi I have 2 budgies one name winter(female) and one stormy(male) now I could be wrong but I always or was told that the female would be the more dominant of the pair, however my stormy is rather bosy when I first got the birds which was about a week ago I had them in a inside cage it was to small for the 2 so they are now outside in a much bigger cage, anyway in the small cage to get away from my hand stormy would move to the end of the perch now if winter was in the way he would just chirp at her peck a bit and then stand on her to get her to move? now in the bigger cage I put some millet in there for them this morning he loved it but winter wanted some but everytime she came near he would "yell" at her and try to peck at her she had to climb to the other side of where he was to get some, why wouldn't he share? for the most part they get on rather well, but I'm sure when I am out there he is trying to intimidate her he flys over her head he will jump of his perch do a lap around her head then land in the same spot he started? whats that about. when I watch them through the window they seem fine he will do it evey now and then but when I walk outside its almost always?? any help would be muchly appreciated :dbb1:
October 27, 200618 yr one word budgies are greedy (Laughing out loud) Pretty is the same way especially if I am dotting over Merlin. So the cure this situation give them 2, split the millet in 1/2 and put 1 piece on 1 side and 1 piece on the other side so they can have their own piece. It adds peace to the aviary/cage.
