Hey Guys,

How do you tell what sex they are at such an early age? Here are some photos from front on as requested by bubbles in a different post.

What do you all think they are?

Toss a coin and you have a 50% chance of getting it right.

Guess the gender of babies needs to wait until they are a least 4 to 4 and half weeks. 6 weeks is normally when it's easier to tell.

Those are great close up pictures.

I get it right with all mine when I guess between this age and another week or so, but I do get a better look at mine than a photo, so I reserve the right to confirm or change my mind in a week or so with updated photos

I reserve the right to confirm in a week or so with newer photos. I get mine right now and thats all that matters, since I can see them up close everyday. :P

How can you possibly tell so early on? Is there something special to look for, I'd love to know as I have enough trouble being the amatuer I am at telling some adults apart without the definate blue or brown cere

I can generally tell better from the 2-3 week stage with my own birds. Saying my own birds just means I can have a really good look at them and not rely on clarity of photos or not and colour changes that photos posted on monitors will have. I can't really say exactly what I am seeing at that stage, but I find my judgement at that age is more accurate than when they fledge. :(
