Hey all, I have noticed that my budgies have had brown/reddish droppings. It is not the normal dark color. Has this happend to any of your budgies? I havent noticed any change in their behavior.

The first thing I would look at would be their diet. Have they eaten any new foods? Strawberries could turn the feces reddish, grains or pellets will turn them brownish.

It could be the pellets possibly, altough they are not new. I feed them a pellet mixed with some seed diet, it could be that they are just eating more of the pellets now.

Definitely go to the vet, my Lovebird Mango, seems to have rust colored droppings after pellets unlike the rest of the budgies/tiel/lovies but maybe that is how he processes the foodstuff. You will feel better after your guy is checked out.
