Posted October 21, 200618 yr I have taken delivery of my newest rescue budgie......She was assumed to be a male budgie and has lived for two years in a tiny canary sized cage with plastic perches and an upturned wooden strip for a perch. Fed only on seed and water. But she looks fine and happy and will be even happier later when she gets to meet all the others. Here she is in the cage she arrived in ........formerly called Budgie Boy and now call Free....... Edited October 28, 200618 yr by Rainbow

October 21, 200618 yr I would think that she is a double factor dominant pied. Have a look closer to both eyes. My DF dom pied only has one iris ring. dark on one side, iris ring on one. :fear Free is beautiful!! Is it semi tame? or not at all?!?! Just curious..

I thought she looked DF Dom pied too then I didnt cos of iris rings not present......but I will take a second look at iris rings if any :fear

No bird has ever been rejected in the larger flock I have. I guess budgies are great like that. Maybe flock budgies , like in large aviaries act a little differently to those indoor birds who lay claim to a cage that they may have to share....I don't know
October 21, 200618 yr Haven't you ever had one budgie go all out and attack another one on a daily basis? You're really lucky if that's true. It happened in my Dad's aviaries a few times, but his weren't as big as yours.

It happened in my Dad's aviaries a few times, but his weren't as big as yours. I had a hormonal troublesome male budgie who would want to macho it up and fight to be the guy the girls would want after he bashed up all the boys.......I quickly removed him. After he became a father in a breeder cage he settled down and now is just one of the boys in the flock. But no other personal attacks in the aviaries....there is space so I guess that helps.
