Posted October 12, 200618 yr Here are the two babies of Harley and Rose................ Firstly the Dad Harley Rose (the shy one) Baby number one Baby number two Any guesses ?? Edited October 12, 200618 yr by Bubbles
October 12, 200618 yr yes they are very cute i realy like the colour of the parents!!!! :budgiedance:
October 12, 200618 yr Author Mum is definitely a dominant pied spangle....she has the bands across her tummy. Dad actually has a very small pied spot on the back of his head but I will leave it up to the experts to work it out. Baby's wings are greyish and eldest baby looks a bit like Buddha did when he was growing (Buddha is a skyblue greywing). Time will tell.
October 12, 200618 yr can't really tell with baby one, but may be opaline spangle?? I think I'm being a nut here with that guess.... baby two, I'd say spangle dom pied (head spot obviously.. hehe)

October 13, 200618 yr I'd love to come over and cuddle some babies. :ausb: I had a thought last night when I was trying to sleep... Both Harley and Rose are opaline, so both kids should be opaline boy or girl! :glare:

October 14, 200618 yr Author Here is the two babies feathering up just a little....... Baby number one male I think Baby number two female I think Edited October 14, 200618 yr by Bubbles
October 14, 200618 yr they look dominante pied for sure, I don't see the spangling but that is probably me but they do have 25% chance of normal correct. Do you see the spangling.
October 14, 200618 yr My guesses... :bluebudgie: Baby one...Opaline spangle... skyblue, or cobalt?!?!?! On second thought possibly a normal?? It doesn't look to have the two spangle clear tail feathers Baby two..dominant pied opaline spangle.
October 14, 200618 yr Author Baby number one has definite skyblue feathers. Head bars are white and blue stripes if that helps. BUT wing colours are white and GREY, not black....so greywings? Like Buddha maybe ? Baby number two is pied of course. The blue is starting a a little differently, Grey and white wings. Body colours not properly in yet but seems a slightly different shade of blue at this stage. Cheeta ...come look and see up close :bluebudgie:
October 16, 200618 yr Author Harley Rose (the shy one) Baby number one Probably cannot be seen well on these photos but baby number one's blue colour is through the top area of the wings too. That makes it opaline doesn't it? Baby number two
October 16, 200618 yr I would imagine you would get all opaline babies from this pair since both parents are opaline, and opaline is sex linked. :hap: Seems like they are both split for greywings too. Baby 1 is just gorgeous! Like buddha with the pied spot.
October 16, 200618 yr there was no egg swapping with these two?? two opaline should give opaline bubs.

October 16, 200618 yr Beautiful chicks Karen, buy the first photos I would have said greys as well. But with the blue coming thru I'm not sure, I would have to agree with you opalines. Maybe the youngest might be a grey. Hmmm

October 19, 200618 yr Author Babies looking good. Is this one (baby number one) a greywing or a clearwing. It's opaline as you can see the blue in the wings too at the top and both parents are. The grey in the wings has faded to a paler grey. Can anyone clarify what this one is please? And what is this telling me about the parents genes ? Baby number two .pied, opaline....has grey wings too and skyblue.....What would it be ?
October 19, 200618 yr Baby one i think looks to be a greywing. If he is a greywing, I'm guessing both parents are split for greywings (none of them look greywing to me). I think the blue is a 'light' cobalt.. but I can't really tell... Baby two is a dom pied opaline spangle! like mommy. I think it's the the faint spangle marking?!?! could be greywing I guess. Have to see it in person to make that call.. hehe. :dbb1:

October 19, 200618 yr Oh yes Cheeta and make sure you steal one in your hair (like Lin did) :dbb1:. I agree with Cheeta on her theory too :ausb: but I think as the feathers come in we will know more.
