Do you take them away from their parents around 2 weeks old, and feed them the rest? Do you use a shrynge? Or spoon? Or.. And how do they take to it? Mine dont like the handfeeding mix that much... I want to take them away from their parents in few days or weeks...but want to make sure they will eat handfeeding mix... Thanks mate! Kirby

Kirby Kirby, Dont take them away from their parents - they are too young I don't take them away from the parents unless they are being attacked ,and so far that has not happened under 3 weeks of age. I either use a spoon, bent like a beak or a syringe, I'm not good at it but so far have not lost any. Also I cheat. I put the baby in a cage next to my tame budgie and hang a feeder of hulled oats on the outside of the babies cage and Tweety sits on it and eats - and the babies gradually copy her. I squeeze millet between the bars, Tweety eats from the outside and baby copies and starts nibbling the piece on the inside. Not the correct wway, and I'm sure some breeders would hold their breath in terror, but I have not lost any yet. Sorry if this sounds weird. I'm having trouble trying to put word together as luckly keeps sitting on my fingers trying to eat the keyboard. Cindy
