Akala laid her second egg today, it was a little bloody but she looked okay so hopefully there's nothing wrong.

In the other breeding cage not much is happening - Gherkin is spending all his time being the hen and hanging out in the nest box while Tiki hardly ever goes in. :D I'll give them another week or two to look interested then i might put a different pair in the cage instead.

....and i'll get to those photos eventually, (Laughing out loud).

Not sure if anyone's reading this still but Kala has 4 eggs now, maybe a 5th tomorrow and today i took Gherk and Tiki out of the breeding cage and put PB and Asparagus in. From them i should get dominant pied greens and recessive pied greens. :fear

I am just not posting , keep on going

Five eggs now! :ausb: I haven't candled them because i can't usually make sense of what i see anyway and i don't want to stress her too much. I wonder how many eggs she will lay in total.

Yes I've read with out a comment :ausb: I can't wait to see the bubs of these two. Any interest with the new pair?

Well they were all lovey dovey in the aviary so hopefully they're in the mood still since i put them in the cage, (Laughing out loud). :ausb:

I took PB and Gus out of the breeding cage today and removed the cage from the aviary. With Tiki dying from trich. i figuired that it would be unwise for me to be breeding until i'm sure it's completely gone from the aviary. I'm praying neither Kala or Bob get it as they've got their eggs and future chicks to worry about, i'm hoping they can be treated while they have chicks, if not i guess i'll pull the chicks to handrear once they're all getting their fluff so the parents can be treated.

You are making some very mature and well thought out decisions here, Bea :hap: Good luck with everything.

You dont have any others breeding that you could pop them under do you? :D heheee will Blinks take on a daddy role and sit on them :ausb:

Ummm bea what do you mean she's stopped sitting, has the hen deserted the nest? :ausb:

Seems like it, she never seems to be in there when i'm watching and last week she wouldn't get off to let me see. :ausb:

Nope, cause i took the other pair out as they had no eggs and i didn't think i should be breeding more budgies until i have treated my flock for trichomoniasis. :D
