When i let my budgie out of his cage this morning I noticed that he was limping a bit and only standing on one foot. within minutes he was hopping and not using the foot at all. I'm concerned that I may have injured him last night while trying to get him out of his cage to treat his scaly face. He has been sitting on one foot occaisionally but today it is noticeable worse. He was rather distressed last night and was making noises to suggest he was very upset with me where usually he just bites. Should I take him to the vet or just wait for a few days and see if it gets better?

take him to the avian vet

Please do NOT wait, take him as fast as possible. The simplest way to look at it is that a bird will not display illness or pain unless it is severe. If you yourself were in possible severe pain, yu wouldnt want to wait a few days before you could get any relief from it would you
