What type of pencil should I use for marking eggs?? I've read 2B or 3B are okay, but I wasn't sure if 2HB and 2B were the same...

no the hb is is a harder pencil. The soft the better so your not having to press hard on the egg. If you have kids texta pens you can use them, or any non toxic water based pen.

 

2-3 B would be soft

It goes up to 6 B (i believe) and I think the HB is the hardest.

Both Nerwen and I use water base non toxic markers. I've had no problems with my eggs hatching. :blink:

I used a 3B pencil...I also have a 6B with my art pencils...Are Crayola markers okay? Or Laurentien? We have lots of markers but I wasn't sure it would hurt the chicks or not...
