Posted September 28, 200618 yr We have had to bring a small baby budgie in from our aviary as the mum has stopped feeding it. It is 3 weeks old but very small (there are 4 others still in the box but they are alot bigger). We have put it in a small box with a light above it so it gets some heat. We are feeding it every few hours waterdowned egg food through a syringe and it seems to be responding. Can anyone advise if what we are doing is right, and if so are there any other things we perhaps should be doing or giving it?
September 28, 200618 yr I would quickly get some rearing mixture for Budgies. It will have more nutriants than just watered down mix. Also feed at the perscribed mix for that age. Also you have to weigh the chick every day. It sould be puting on about 2 grams per day until it reaches about 45 to 50 grams. It will stay at that weight until it becomes more active.
