Posted September 26, 200618 yr Hi guys, What kind of babes would I get with a violet opaline male and a yellow recessive pied opaline female? I am dreaming of next summer when they will be old enough to breed. They are so beautiful and sweet. If they breed, I just know they will make fantastic looking babies. Thanks Shell Oh.. I also have a dominant pied girl and a dark yellow face type II male. What would they combine for? Edited September 26, 200618 yr by Shellball
September 26, 200618 yr If it is a true violet it would be a violet cobalt. a yellow recessive pied opaline female is the base colour there should be green on her and depending how dark will depend on the colour of the chicks. Chicks will all be opaline and split to recessive. Colour will be green with the effect of the violet factor. Or blue with the effect of the violet factor. Now the next thing is on what gene the violet factor has attached in the visual violet.. I might go in to that in another section.
September 26, 200618 yr violet opaline male and a yellow recessive pied opaline female By yellow do you mean yellowface or green? a picture would help if you're not sure. If she's green, then babies would be green unless she is split for yellowface or blue. Since both parents would be opaline.. that means all the babies would be opaline. They could get one violet factor from the dad.. and they would all be split for recessive pied (if the father is split for recessive pied, then you could get some) dominant pied girl and a dark yellow face type II male half of the babies could be dominant pied if she is single factor.. all of the babies would be dominant pied if she is double factor. half of the babies could be yellowface if he is single factor.. all of the babies would be yellowface if he is double factor. What do you mean by "dark", if he is mauve the babies will get at least one dark factor -- could get 2 if the mother has any.

They are very pale, light green. Shell violet opaline male and a yellow recessive pied opaline female By yellow do you mean yellowface or green? a picture would help if you're not sure.
