Can anybody shed light for me>\

 

I have seen my 11 month old budgie do this twice now in the past few days. once after flying and once in his cage unprovoked

 

He gets a kind of vacant expression in his eyes and starts kid of rotating his head in a head cocking motion as he would normally if looking up at me except this is a continuous repetetive movement that appers to be involoutary, lasts for a few minutes and doesnt stop when i touch him etc. it is very scary and I think he may be having a fit or something, is he dying? I am very scared, I will take him to the vet tomorrow but I wanted to know if any of you had experienced this?

I am sorry I cannot advise you on this either, but I would like to let you know that the best avian vet around is in Wattle Grove Vet Clinic and his name is Tim Oldfield. Most normal vets aren't specialists with birds. We have used Tim before and he is top notch....the best.
