Posted September 23, 200618 yr I put Skye and Aries together in the breeding cage about 4 days ago and weren't getting along at first...Skye would be really nasty and defend her nestboxes but now...finally...four days later, they're feeding each other!!! It makes me happy because they're my only birds that are ready to breed! If they don't I don't have any other birds to pair up...What could I get from these two? Cobalt blue girlie Sorry about the picture...couldn't get it right side up... and http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c116/Bea...ta/DSCN8684.jpg The pretty little yellowface, Aries... Skye's poops are big but they've been like that for a while...Doesn't make much sense...She's trying to get me excited over nothing Alora PS: These are older pics of these two...Skye's cere is darker and it seems like Aries' is too... September 23, 200618 yr Alora can you tell me of Aries look blue in real life like the pied in the other picture, a really light blue, or that greeny-blue as in the picture??
September 24, 200618 yr Alora can you tell me of Aries look blue in real life like the pied in the other picture, a really light blue, or that greeny-blue as in the picture?? He's that greeny-blue...Is he a yellowface type 2? Alora
September 24, 200618 yr well with that colour I would have said yes but his wings are white which is a sign of a type 1 yellowface.
September 24, 200618 yr well with that colour I would have said yes but his wings are white which is a sign of a type 1 yellowface. That's cool I think it'll take me a while to get used to the colour thing...(Laughing out loud)... Skye has been in the nestbox LOTS today...Everytime i go in she's in there fartin' around...(Laughing out loud)... So what could I possibly get from this pair? :greenb: Alora Edited September 26, 200618 yr by Alora
September 24, 200618 yr once looking just like both mum and dad. normal blues and yellowface blues. A surpise could crop up with split genes that can't be planed for.
September 24, 200618 yr Sounds great! Blues are my favourite budgie color....also really pale yellow like the banner at the top of the page...That budgie is too cute... Heres a picture i took of the two of them this morning... http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c116/Bea...ta/DSCN9494.jpg What could I get if i crossed Aries with this pretty gal? http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c116/Bea...ta/DSCN8891.jpg Sorry that I'm asking so many questions....I just can't answer them myself yet...(Laughing out loud) Alora Edited September 24, 200618 yr by Alora
September 26, 200618 yr I put in a marble into Skye's nestbox and boy was she surprised! It was so adorable because she got protective of it and tried to push it underneath herself...It was the cutest thing I've ever seen her do Has anyone else tried putting a white marble in their nestboxes as a test? I had just wanted to see whether or not she'd throw it out, ignore it, or try sitting on it...Skye passed the sitting on it test at first...Now she's ignoring it...I think she may have figured out it wasn't real. Or maybe she could be waiting for another egg?...(Laughing out loud)...She has been making these MONSTER poops the last few days...They look like they couldn't come from a smaller bird like her! Alora
September 26, 200618 yr :(Laughing out loud): Marbles are used sometimes as replacement/fake eggs. I havn't before now I have some around if I need to. Aries and ...I'm so sorry I can't recall her name just now :dbb1: But they will give yellowface normals (like Aries) Blue Pieds (like her) and Blue normals Yellowface Pieds oh and the yellowface in the banner is a bird a breed, one of my first in fact. :ausb: Edited September 26, 200618 yr by Nerwen
September 26, 200618 yr marbles are so simple yet so brilliant...(Laughing out loud). Her name is Francisco...Well...It was until I found out he was a she...(Laughing out loud)...Now i just call her Franny :dbb1: haha. Pieds are so pretty...There's like now end to what kind of combo's you can get with blue and white or green and yellow... such a pretty little birdie in the banner...did you have a name for it? Alora PS: Skye is pacing like crazy...She's either following Aries around or Aries is following her around...(Laughing out loud)...it's pretty funny. Edited September 26, 200618 yr by Alora
September 26, 200618 yr :dbb1: I love the little pacey dance they do. I called her Lacey short of Continental Lace and her owners called her Connie.
September 26, 200618 yr That pacing is funny :ausb: Awww she gorgeous!!! I just love her colours!!! What a darlin'...Hope I'll get some eggs/babies soon! :dbb1: Aries has been bobbing his head, feeding Skye lots and clicking beaks...he even attampted to put his foot on Skye's back but then he took it off and just cuddled with her instead Alora Edited September 26, 200618 yr by Alora
September 27, 200618 yr Skye has been in the nestbox according to my mom practically all day and my mom heard some really strange noises from the nestbox this morning...She described them as little throaty gurgles and trills...I'm not sure what exactly she means but you guys might? Alora

Alora Edited September 29, 200618 yr by Alora
