What Do We Do If

okay, we have 9 days left in our quarantine of Mango and Tango. When we introduce them, we'll do it with cages beside each other at first. I think I can figure out if they like each other enough to let them visit each other until we make the move into one cage permanent. However, what if they don't like each other? Is it still possible for them to get along enough to live in one cage? Is there anything we could do to help the situation? I just want to be prepared for both situations.

It's a scary prospect isn't it...my three are finished their quarantine and I moved their two cages in beside my larger aviary and there was a lot of interest in the new guys. I intended to just leave them all in their separate cages and introduce them slowly, allow them out to play together. But after they had played together for two days, I let them all go together in the same aviary. There were a few perch squabbles last night concerning who was sleeping where, but mine did that all along every night anyway. Other than that, they were all fine together.

If you do it right most will get along it is rare they don't and if they don't you can't keep them together because 1 will get injured.

I intro Merlin and Pretty out of the cage but didn't house them together for a week, then I worked on housing them during the day only for about a week and then all day and night. I had some angry dolphin noises from Merlin a lot in the beginning because Pretty thought he could mate with him I think (Laughing out loud) but as it quieted it down I then let them be housed together.

Some people can just put them in and there is not an issue.
