Quick And Easy Stand To Make.

Hi guys, thought i'd show you a stand I made recently. It's nothing special, but it doesn't look bad and does the job well!

This is it in all it's glory. I hope the picture size is close enough to the admin/mods ideal size.

In total it cost me $35AUD to construct and about fifteen minutes.

For the Aussie's out there I bought everything from Bunnings and BigW.

From Bunnings I bought the wood. It basically fits itself! In the timber department you can buy the bottom blocks (a heavy chipboard) that were offcuts. Usually cost a few bucks each but the guy that helped me find the offcut box said I could just have em! Bargain!

Next was the bottom hole fitting. A square type shape that slims as it rises with a hole in it for a dowel rod. $3~AUD.

The large dowel rod cost $4AUD, just make sure you get the right size to fit the holes in other bits.

The top hole fitting is rounded which is better for securing something to it, and comes with the hole for the dowel. This was a bit more at $8AUD.

Next trip was to BigW where I picked up the play gym for $20AUD. It's a small size, but almost $15AUD cheaper than at any aviary/petstore!

I attched two bits of chipboard together with hot glue first, then nailed in for extra grip. Then glued and nailed the bottom fitting to the chipboard. I then glue and nailed the gym to the top fitting. Then lastly I hot glued the holes *a lot* and slide the bottom and top of the dowel rod in, and held. It's very secure, the birds love it! I think the height of it gives a bit of security. It's about 150CM high.

Easily movable to any room your in, it's great to have the birdies next to me if i'm at the computer or lounging around.
