Posted September 20, 200618 yr Blue had 11 eggs, discarded 2, gave three away when these 6 hatched. (No.6 is hidden in top Right hand corner) Jo-Jo had 8 eggs, gave 3 away after 5 hatched (this was the 2nd clutch) (looks like 5 of a kind) and first timer 'Chook' has 9 eggs and hatched her first today. (The first egg was laid 31/8/06) Looks like I'm gonna be a very busy momma Cindy

Isn't it exciting to see what type of chicks you get out of one nest. Cool Cheers Paul

I admit I was worried with the last ones but they finally realised they had to feed it. A friend of mind lost all his babies because the parents would not feed them. Try posting under Breeding help and someone will tell you what to do. Good luck with them Cindy Very beautiful!!!Do you photos of the other babies's parents? Yes I do, I just have to find them, then I'll post them for you Cindy
September 27, 200618 yr I’m so jealous of your success rate!! One has 11 eggs, the other 8 and another 9, and most of them hatch! You must have super fertile budgies… mine almost never go beyond 6 eggs, and then some of those don’t even hatch. Congrats!

You must have super fertile budgies… mine almost never go beyond 6 eggs, and then some of those don’t even hatch. Congrats! Well Chook has hatched her 5th baby today, that leaves 4 eggs left. Panis is starting to set in as there is no way she could care for 9 babies. Cindy
September 28, 200618 yr If, by any chance all 9 eggs hatch, then you can start handrearing the eldest ones to help the mother out can't you ? That should work out okay. Good luck with this clutch of babies
September 29, 200618 yr Author Don't worry. I have had some when only 2 out of 6 hatch. It must be just the right season here, or else something in the water Cindy
